Char Dham Yatra 2015 Starts in Full Swing

Pilgrims who is waiting from long time to go For Chardham Yatra Can Visit. Recently Chardham Yatra Started on 20 th April, 2015, Pilgrims from more than 12 Cities came here to do Religious Chardham Yatra.   After Flood in 2013, Uttarakhand Receive less tourists from all over the world but This Year Uttarakhand Tourism Department expecting that no of Tourist Increases. On the first day of the Kapat opening of Yamunotri Ji and Gangotri Ji, there has been a slight increase in the footfall. About 3,000 devotees from 12 states visited Yamunotri on the first day while another 3,000 took the trip to Gangotri. The Uttarakhand government is now registering and keeping a tab on the number of people visiting the shrines. Fifty-five foreign tourists also visited the shrine on the first day. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat to Invite PM Modi to Take Part in Char Dham Yatra

All India | Press Trust of India | Updated: April 24, 2015 21:04 IST   Dehradun:   Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today said he would invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take part in the Char Dham Yatra . Mr Rawat said they would also request the prime minister to reopen the traditional route for the Mansarovar yatra. He also said the President had been earlier invited for the pilgrimage but the programme was cancelled later. The President is now scheduled to visit the state on May 18. Upon his return to the state capital after accompanying Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to Kedarnath temple , the Chief Minster thanked Mr Gandhi for embarking on the trek. "Rahul's reverence towards Lord Shiva helped him to traverse the distance between Gaurikund and Keranath very quickly," Chief Minister said. Rahul Gandhi Begins Trek to Kedarnath Shrine

All India | Press Trust of India | Updated: April 23, 2015 22:32 IST Dehradun:   Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today embarked on a 'yatra' to Kedarnath by beginning his 16 km-trek up in the Uttarakhand mountains to pay obeisance at the temple. Mr Gandhi along with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat and state Congress chief Ambika Soni reached the Jolly Grant airport in Gaurikund by a government helicopter around 2 pm, media-in-charge of the Chief Minister, Surendra Kumar said. The Congress vice president is set to reach the shrine tomorrow when its gates will be thrown open for pilgrims. They started on the 10-km long trek to Lincholi where they will halt for the night, Mr Kumar said. They are scheduled to undertake the last 6 km stretch of Kedarnath trek by tomorrow around 6 am, he said.
